In an exciting boost for volleyball sports development in Malawi, Jia Bai Li Supermarket and Purity Sanitary Products have teamed up as co-sponsors of Blue Eagles Volleyball club for the upcoming 2025 league season. The two companies have sponsored the club, wholly owned by the Malawi Police Service, with K6 million as a starter pack for the next league season.

In a bid to enhance road safety in Malawi, the Road Safety Alert Foundation (ROSAF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malawi Police Service (MPS).

The agreement was formalized on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the National Police Headquarters in Lilongwe, marking the start of a critical partnership aimed at reducing road accidents across the country.

Police in Kasungu have arrested Isaac Yona 36, Shadrick Kampira, 48, Francis Daniel, 31, Mike Maulidi, 24, Haji Umali, 18 and Chikondi Dawa, 31, for allegedly being found in possession of 50 cellphones and two power banks suspected to have been stolen.

The six suspects were arrested on August 19, 2024 at Gogode turn off along Kasungu - Mzimba M1 road by Central East Regional Traffic officers who were on traffic check.

The training sessions, held at Zomba Police College and Police Cottage in Mangochi, focus on equipping police officers with the necessary skills to manage public order and ensure a fair electoral process.

The President of the Republic of Malawi, His Excellency Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, has hailed police officers in the country for the commendable job they are doing in making the country safe.

Chakwera made the sentiments on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Limbe Police Training School in Blantyre when he presided over a passing out parade of 1367 recruit constables.

Malawi Police  Service arrests three suspects in the murder of Korean woman near Lilongwe Gold Club

Malawi Police Service (MPS) strongly condemns the politically motivated violence that took place near the Lilongwe City Mall on Saturday, February 24, 2024 where Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) members gathered for a blue parade.

Three Chinese nationals in Lilongwe have been sentenced to six years in prison for trafficking two Malawian women on the pretext of marriage. 

The convicts, Zhang Yan Qing, Zhou Yan Hu, and Mian Mian Chen(a lady), were sentenced on Tuesday February 20, 2024 before Principal Resident Magistrate’s Court.

According to State Prosecutor Senior Superintendent Louis Makiyi, the first two convicts illegally married the victims, who are aged 20 and 22, last year in March.
