Private Security
Occasionally, requests are made to the Police of purely private functions for police assistance to control crowds, perform traffic and parking duties or offer security to events. These duties when required to be performed are outside the scope of normal police work. In such cases a fee for the services are be charged. The following are the approved chargers:

A General Receipt will be issued in each case.
Security Training
When a company or any entity desires services from police with regard to training its personnel, they write to the Inspector General of Police seeking approval. Once approved, the company in coordination with the service training department proceeds with the training program development.
Police Band
When a company or any entity desires the services of the police band, they have to officially write to the Inspector General of Police clearly stating the date(s) and venues they require the services. Once approved, the arrangements are made in coordination with the director of music
Dog Services
The Malawi Police Service has a fully-fledged dog school in Lilongwe and kennels in all the cities of Malawi. The growth of private security companies and expanding middle class have raised the demand for well trained dogs and dog handlers. The school breeds and trains dogs and dog handlers for private entities at a fee.
Event Venues
Various police venues can be used upon formal requests and approval by the Inspector General of Police.
