Police detectives in Central West Region (CWR) have arrested two Nigerian suspects Chimesi Omuka (35) and Ejike Enebenchi (28) for drug dealing.
The duo have been arrested on the night of October 20, 2021 in the comfort of their home at area 49 in Lilongwe, after being found in possession of cocaine.
The detectives working on classified information, swiftly zeroed in on the culprits before arresting them and seizing the contraband.
The cocaine has weighed 11 grams upon examination at the Pharmacy, Medicines and Poisons Board.
The suspects are believed to have been selling the illicit drug at their home.
The second accused, Enebenchi was previously convicted on a similar offence in July this year.
On that occasion, he was found with cocaine weighing 0.383 grams and paid a Court fine of MK200.000.
However, the expectation now is for a stiffer penalty since he is no longer a first offender.
The duo will appear in Court as soon as all formalities are completed to answer a case of being found in possession of dangerous drug (cocaine) without licence.
Last month, in September, detectives at CWR also arrested one Nigerian and two Malawians for attempting to export another dangerous drug ephedrine, to New Zealand.
Meanwhile, the CWR team of detectives has vowed to flush out all drug dealers within the city of Lilongwe.
